Short Stay Home

A short stay home is being run in Unnao district for destitute women facing social economical and emotional problems due to family level disputes, mental strains and social ostracism, etc., with the financial support of Central Social Welfare Board New Delhi. The main objective of this short stay home is to support the women in resolving their problems and rehabilitating them with their families by developing self esteem and confidence. 

So far over 150 estranged women have been helped and temporarily provided residential facilities with a family atmosphere. With the efforts of the staff of the short stay home about 100 problem cases have been resolved and the victims rehabilitated with their families.

The home also supports women in income generation activities and provides vocational training in different trades with the collaboration of Jan Shikshan Sansthan Unnao and undertakes literacy promotional activities for the illiterate women.      

Family Counselling Centre

A Family Counselling Centre is also being run by the organisation in Unnao district with the support of Central Welfare Board, Government of India. The counsellor of the centre regularly visits the urban and rural areas to find out the problem cases such as dowry, divorce, sexual harassment, gender related issues, etc., and provide them necessary assistance with the help of administrative and judicial machinery available at the district level. For facilitating the resolution of problems the centre has constituted an apex level committee of representatives from judiciary, police, district administration and eminent social workers of the district. The centre has so far registered 360 cases and has resolved 96 cases during the current year.
