  A one day workshop to protect women from domestic violence and crate awareness regarding domestic violence act 2005 vis-à-vis problems related to rights of women education and checking female feoticide was organized jointly by FCC & SSH of the organization under the auspices of Central Social Welfare Board on 8th March, 2007 at Dosti Nagar, Unnao district of Uttar Pradesh on ‘International Women’s Day’.  In this workshop hundreds of men, women and children from rural areas participated.  The workshop was inaugurated by Smt Kalawati, Lady Pradhan of Dosti Nagar village and followed by many speakers including block officials, educationalist and prominent legal persons of the nearby areas.  These speakers highlight the problems of domestic violence and said that these are due to illiteracy and lack of knowledge. They said that we will have to sensitize the community about the problems so that they may themselves compact the problem at their own level and if need be report the matter directly to the police and magistrate for redressal.  They exhorted the women folk to come forward and be prepared for education and self empowerment.
